Allie Terms and Conditions of Use

Database Center for Life Science (&quotDBCLS&quot) provides the following terms and conditions of use (these &quotTerms of Use&quot) regarding usage of services (the &quotService&quot) developed by Integrated Database Project sponsored by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (&quotMEXT&quot) of Japan through the website operated by DBCLS at http://allie.dbcls.jp/ (the &quotWebsite&quot) and usage of database (the &quotDatabase&quot) obtained from the Website. Those who use the Service (the &quotUsers&quot) shall understand, agree to, and comply with each of the provisions of the Terms of Use.

1. License and acknowledgement

The Database is licensed under Creative Commons 2.1 (Japan) License (the &quotLicense&quot). Please read carefully and comply with the terms conditions set forth in this License in using the Database (for details, see, http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.1/jp/).

If Users reproduce, distribute or otherwise exploit the Database under the License, Users shall acknowledge DBCLS in the following manner:

From Allie (http://allie.dbcls.jp/), a database developed by Integrated Database Project, MEXT, Japan.

As for acknowledgement of the National Library of Medicine (&quotNLM&quot), the provider of the data used in the Service and the Database, please see Article 3 below.

As for some of English-Japanese translations, we use Life Science Dictionary (&quotLSD&quot), which is released by the LSD Project under Creative Commons 2.1 (CC-BY-ND, for details, see http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/2.1/jp/ ) and we obtained permission of its derivative works.

DBCLS represents that its data provided in the Service and the Database were formulated with a reasonable standard of care. Except for this representation, DBCLS makes no representation or warranties, expressed or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, with respect to the Service and the Database, accuracy of information provided by the Service or contained in the Database, and DBCLS specifically disclaims any such warranties and representations.

DBCLS assumes no responsibility or liability associated with use of copyrighted material, including transmitting, reproducing, redistributing, or making commercial use of the data obtained from the Service or the Database. DBCLS does not provide legal advice regarding copyright, fair use, or other aspects of intellectual property rights. Persons contemplating any type of transmission or reproduction of copyrighted material such as abstracts are advised to consult legal counsel.

DBCLS may suspend or terminate part or all of the Service without prior notice due to system failure, software or hardware breakdown, malfunction, failure of telecommunication lines, or any other reason. DBCLS may revise these Terms of Use. In such a case, DBCLS shall display the revised Terms of Use on the Website with a reasonable notice period, and the User shall be bound by the revised Terms of Use at the earlier of the point when a User uses the Service or the Database after such revision or the point when the notice period provided by DBCLS has expired.

5. Governing Law

The governing law for these Terms of Use, the Website, the Service and the Database is the law of Japan.
